Live Earth Party Success
I wanted to the twenty-five some people who came to the LiveEarth concert party. During the party I had two wireless laptops set up so people could take the LiveEarth Pledge. If you have not done so yet, take the LiveEarth pledge go to http://liveearthpledge.org/. We had so much food left over the next day we hosted a free lunch for our cohousing neighbors on the porch of my home.

Congratulations! Rather than hosting a Live Earth party in my cohousing neighborhood, I went out to others, including a viewing at the Metreon in SF, where I met a couple of fellow Climate Project trainees and a regional organizer for a "Draft Al Gore" PAC.
I love it when leftover food from an event in the Common House can get put to use for a common meal... hopefully it helps the community see an event as an opportunity/net benefit, not just an imposition.
How's River Rock doing? I visited several years ago, as part of a Coho/US board meeting there.

It was great to hear of your experiences in SF around Live Earth.
Riverrock is going quite well. We have really relaxed as a community now that we are in our eighth year of existence. The social activities tend to be more spontaneous and less planned then in the beginning. We have fewer community meals and more impromptu community potlucks. More “We are having a movie night, tonight” and “we are going tubing on the river, you want to come.” Overall it is a much more casual community.
